today you will be with me in paradise

Three fields — earth brown, bone white, deep blue — meet across a single panel, crossed by a horizontal beam that runs the full width. At the center, a weathered plank rises against a disc of gold leaf, its split and broken base left exactly as it was found.

The title comes from Luke 23:43 (the artist’s favorite verse of scripture), and the work holds that moment in structure rather than image: reclaimed wood carrying its own history of wear, a gold ground borrowed from icon painting, and a composition balanced between the vertical and the horizontal. The materials are humble and salvaged; the treatment is not.

Acrylic, metal leaf, and wood on wood panel. 12 × 24 in. Signed.
